Biography
Dani Greene has been making photographs for 25 years. She began her career at the Maine Photographic Workshops (now known as the Maine Media Workshops) in Rockport, Maine, where she learned the mechanics and the philosophy behind photography. She moved to New York shortly after, where she worked for Mary Ellen Mark and at Magnum Studios. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she earned her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. She has participated in multiple shows at the Center for Fine Art Photography, the LA Municipal Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena.
Her work has focused on themes including the intersection between technology and humanity—photographing a heart transplant surgery at UCLA hospital. After documenting the heart transplant and moving to Washington, DC, she shifted her focus to public policy. She wrote several audit reports and best practice guides for the federal government for over a decade, still photographing in her free time. In 2024, she returned to her main passion, photography, and has been actively taking photos ever since.
